Cephalalgia (head pain)

A large part of all headaches and migraines is lack of oxygen to the brain.

To understand how this works, walk outside on a sunny day. Without blinding yourself completely have a quick glance toward to sun. Notice how almost immediately your vision starts to go. You cannot keep up with the oxygen demand of light in your visual cortex.

To a lesser degree, this is happening throughout the day when you are on your tech.

Consider a usual day, five hours at the computer screen, one or two on the phone scanning socials.

The constant light source is depleting oxygen stores in your brain. Often carbon dioxide level will increase and you begin to change the pH level in the blood stream in the brain. No wonder you start to feel a bit off!!

Turn the brightness down, increase the natural ambient light and get outside for some fresh air.

Potential of hydrogen (pH) changes can result in inflammation. Another common contributor of inflammation can be in the diet. Often dairy and sometimes gluten have an inflammatory effect in both the bowel and brain (they are almost inseparable in this regard). Consider speaking with a qualified nutritionist or naturopath for some solutions here.

Lastly and where the chiropractic care can be helpful is with neck function. Decreased neck motion will limit neurological feedback into the brain and spine or postural restriction can start to inhibit blood flow.

Getting your normal neck motion restored is a straight forward solution to cervico-genic (brought on by the neck) headache.
